Cindy has been an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish since the age of 7 years old. She is the Social Concerns Coordinator for the parish and serves as a substitute teacher for catechesis and assists with altar server trainings. Cindy’s passion to assist prepared engaged couples enabled her to serve in the Marriage Ministry in both English and Spanish. Cindy is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Cindy is a member of the Archdiocese of Washington Permanent Deacon Review Board. In her spare time, Cindy is a member and co-host of VEA Radio program “De Bendicion en Bendicion.” Cindy met her husband, Deacon Oscar Mendez, at the parish young adult group, Juventud Unida a Cristo (JUAC) and got married in February 2019 and is now the mother of 3 young boys. What Cindy loves most about the parish is its rich diversity and believes in bridging all of our communities together to serve and love our Lord as one body.
